  • U4-U7 Super Mod

Super Mod introduces children to the game of soccer, while concentrating on developing skills and having fun. Games are played on small sized fields with 3 players on each side on coed teams. The emphasis is on playing for fun; there is no score keeping.

Teams practice once a week for one hour. Each practice includes time for skill building, dribbling, and passing games as well as the 3 v 3 Super Mod game scrimmage.

Teams play games against other Oly United SC Super Mod teams from within their age division. The games are roughly an hour long and they are 'refereed' and administered by our Super Mod coaches.

Teams are coached by parent volunteers. Typically, there is one coach for every 7-10 players. Children are usually assigned to teams by their request to play with friends, or by school affiliation for continuity over seasons. Teams are coed.

Players are grouped together on teams based upon age division, grade, school, coach or player preference.

    Seasons of Play:

Spring:  Registration opens January 1st and closes mid-March (or earlier if full).  Practices begin the week after spring break.  Games begin late April.  All games are played on Saturdays at Marshall Middle School at either 9:30 or 11:00 am.  There are no games scheduled for Memorial Weekend.

  • U8-U12 Mod

    Modified (Mod) Soccer Program U8, U9, U10, U11, and U12

The mod program is for under 8 - under 12 year old players and provides a progressive development path leading up to full field 11-a-side play. Using smaller fields, smaller team sizes, and modified rules, the "Mod" program gives players more opportunities with the ball and involvement in the game, which enhances their skill development. The progression in players on the field is:

    U08 - 5-a-side (4 players + goalkeeper)

    U09 and U10 - 7-a-side (6 players + goalkeeper)

    U11 and U12 - 9-a-side (8 players + goalkeeper)

U8 to U12 teams are not coed. However, girls are allowed to play on boys teams.

Player Registration  Information on registration dates and procedures for each season will be posted to this web site. Registrants are able to request a team, coach, or player preference on the electronic registration form. Registrants not making a placement request are typically assigned to teams using school affiliation. Unless otherwise requested, returning players are rostered to their previous season's team provided they register by the "returning player deadline" advertised for that season.

Unless otherwise requested, teams are typically formed by school attended. Players that request a team they've played on previously, AND REGISTER BEFORE THE DEADLINE, are always placed onto that team. At the registration deadline, non-returning players that have registered on time are placed onto teams of the appropriate age and gender that have spots available. After the registration deadline, late registrants are placed onto teams based on their order of registration and the placement guidelines described above, provided there are still spots available on the appropriate teams.

Our umbrella association, TCYSA, provides training opportunities for all its coaches. If you would like to help coach your child's team, please register on our website as a volunteer. You do not need to be a skilled soccer player or have intimate knowledge of the game to get started.  Enthusiasm and the desire to provide guidance to our youth and future leaders is all that is necessary.
